UNDERSTANDING LUSTRE® CLEARSKIN TECHNOLOGY
Blue light therapy is the use of natural blue light from the visible light spectrum for a medical or therapeutic benefit. It has been used to treat acne for almost 40 years. LUSTRE® ClearSkin technology has revolutionized previous LED blue light treatments by making it portable and wearable.
No, the LUSTRE® ClearSkin device does not emit UV rays. It delivers therapeutic, safe and natural blue light at a wavelength of 415 nm. In clinical trials of blue light at 415 nm, there have been no reported incidences of UV skin damage.
The LUSTRE® ClearSkin technology is safe to use for people with ocular photo-sensitivity, as there is no risk of eye injury or otherwise visual discomfort when wearing this light therapy device on the skin.
The device should only be switched on AFTER it has been affixed to the treatment area of skin.
Do Not look directly at the LED light when it is switched on.
Do Not place LUSTRE® ClearSkin device over the eyes, or where the light will shine into the eyes during treatment.
LUSTRE® CLEARSKIN AND YOUR SKIN
Cleanse your skin and pat it dry before using the LUSTRE® ClearSkin device.
If you’re using other topical treatments for acne, these should be applied after the LUSTRE® ClearSkin treatment session.
A rare pigment darkening can occur immediately after the treatment. It is caused by visible wavelengths i.e. blue light, is temporary and completely harmless. It is commonly seen in darker skin types and usually fades in 48 hours. It is thought to be due to reversible oxidation of existing melanin and is not new melanin (which would last much longer). The bacteria continue to be killed, and the temporary discolouration is nothing to be concerned about.
The LUSTRE® ClearSkin device is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate acne of the face. The LUSTRE® ClearSkin device emits light in the blue region of the light spectrum.
- The areas in which the LUSTRE® ClearSkin can be used are shown by the blue shaded areas. These areas of the face are the forehead, cheeks and chin areas.
- LUSTRE® ClearSkin should NOT be used on or around the nose.
- The LUSTRE® device is designed with a flexible lip so as to prevent light from shining directly into the eye. However, if you are treating skin close to the eyes and have any concerns, we recommend using the eye protection goggles provided.
Yes, LUSTRE® ClearSkin is suitable for all skin types. However, a small number of people have a skin type which is more sensitive to the normal level of adhesion of the LUSTRESTRIPS.
The best way to check whether your skin is more sensitive is to carry out a short test before your first treatment.
Attach a LUSTRESTRIP to a LUSTRE® ClearSkin device and place on your inner forearm, just below the elbow. The LUSTRE® ClearSkin treatment head should be switched on and left in place for at least 20 minutes before being removed carefully by lifting from one edge.
If there is any discomfort, then we recommend applying a very small amount of moisturising cream to the skin before attaching LUSTRESTRIP next time and this will normally solve the problem. Because of the strength of the adhesive, with 20 mins sessions, temporary marks can occur. These marks are only temporary and will disappear progressively and naturally.
LUSTRE® ClearSkin Technology is a natural therapy and there are no known side effects. However, in some instance, people might be prone to a temporary skin hyperpigmentation. Darker skin types are more prone to hyperpigmentation and occasionally can get hyperpigmentation with this device but it settles spontaneously. The hyperpigmentation is thought to be due to oxidation of existing melanin and not new melanin production. It generally settles within 48 hours.
We recommend that you speak with your healthcare provider or Dermatologist if considering using LUSTRE® ClearSkin.
MY LUSTRE DEVICE AND LUSTRESTRIPS
Yes! You can apply a small amount of non-comedogenic moisturizer before application of the adhesive strips.
The exact amount of cream required is dependent upon the need to reduce the adhesion. In ALL cases, the cream should NOT be visible on the skin when the strip is applied to the skin. If cream is visible, then the light will not be able to reach the skin and perform an effective treatment.
After each treatment session the LUSTRE® adhesive strip should be removed and discarded. The LUSTRE® therapy head should be cleaned using a moist cloth or cleansing wipe, a moist alcohol swab may also be used. Liquid of any description should not be allowed to enter the LUSTRE® therapy heads or LUSTRE® controller at any time.
Do not use or attach your LUSTRE® ClearSkin device to the main power supply if it has ever been exposed to liquid at any time as it is an electrical equipment.
Yes, it does. Under normal use this product is guaranteed for 1 year after its original purchase date against manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship.
This warranty extends only to the original purchaser and only when purchased from an authorized retailer.

Lustre Skin Ltd shall not be responsible for any incidental, special or consequential damages resulting from the use of this product. All implied warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of fitness and merchantability are limited in duration to one year from date of original purchase.
This warrant gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so some of the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.
USING LUSTRE WITH OTHER ACNE MEDICATIONS
Please consult your healthcare provider or dermatologist before using LUSTRE® ClearSkin if you have been prescribed any medication for Acne.
LUSTRE® ClearSkin should be used for the treatment of mild to moderate acne only. This can be described as:
1. Mild acne: A few pimples or spots, a few pus filled spots, some whiteheads or blackheads.
2. Moderate acne: Some pimples or spots, some pus filled spots, only a few small nodules. Many whiteheads and blackheads.
LUSTRE® ClearSkin should NOT be used for the treatment of severe acne. Please refer to your dermatologist or healthcare professional for a more appropriate treatment.

DO NOT use LUSTRE® ClearSkin if your skin is clear. This means your skin does not have any spots, pimples, whiteheads or blackheads.
DO NOT use LUSTRE® ClearSkin for the treatment of whiteheads or blackheads. Please consult your doctor for a more appropriate treatment.
DO NOT use LUSTRE® ClearSkin to treat any other bodily areas other than the areas of the face, back or shoulders indicated in "indications for use". The safety of the treatment on other parts of the body other than the areas of the face indicated in "indications for use" has NOT been tested and the risk is unknown.
DO NOT use LUSTRE® ClearSkin to treat any other condition that has not been listed in the "indications for use" section. The LUSTRE® ClearSkin has not been tested for any other conditions and the risk is unknown.
DO NOT use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin if you are pregnant, or if you are planning to become pregnant. DO NOT use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin if you are a woman who could become pregnant (unless you are using a reliable form of contraception.) The safety for pregnant women has NOT been tested and the risk is unknown. If you do become pregnant when using LUSTRE® ClearSkin STOP using the device as soon as you become aware.
DO NOT use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin if you are a child under 12 years of age or on children under 12 years of age. The safety of the device for children younger than 12 years of age has NOT been tested and the risk is unknown.
DO NOT use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin if you are sensitive to light. If you use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin and you are sensitive to light you may cause a severe skin reaction.
DO NOT use LUSTRE® ClearSkin if you are known to be sensitive to polyethylene film and/or medical-grade acrylic adhesive, found in the adhesive strips. If you use the adhesive strips and are sensitive to the materials, you may cause a skin reaction.
DO NOT use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin on sunburned skin. The effect of using LUSTRE® ClearSkin on sunburned skin has not been tested and the risk is unknown.
DO NOT use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin if you are taking or have taken in the past drugs that may make you sensitive to light. Common examples of drugs that may make you sensitive to light are:
Antihistamines - used in cold and allergy medicines.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) - used to control pain and inflammation
Antibiotics - including the tetracyclines (minocycline or doxycycline) and sulfonamides (or "sulfa" dugs)
Topical (cream) retinoid used to treat acne - including (Retin A and Tretinoin)
Systemic (tablet) retinoid used to treat acne - including (Accutance or isotretinoin)
Other substances that you may be exposed to, or that you may have been exposed to in the past, can also make you sensitive to light. Common examples of these substances are: -St John's Wort, Deodorants, antibacterial soaps, artificial sweeteners, naphthalene (mothballs), petroleum products, brightening agents found in laundry detergent, and cadmium sulphide (a chemical injected into the skin during tattooing).
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
DO NOT use the LUSTRE® device until you have carried out a sensitivity test. If you use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin without first carrying out a sensitivity test your skin may become reddened or darkened and painful. See section: "How do I prepare my skin for treatment?"
DO NOT use LUSTRE® ClearSkin to treat acne on any areas of the face other than those indicated in "indications for use".
DO NOT share the LUSTRE® ClearSkin device amongst friends or family. The device is for individual use only.
DO NOT use LUSTRE® ClearSkin over or to the thyroid gland. Doing so may stimulate the gland.
DO NOT use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin without removing creams, lotions or make-up from your face BEFORE treatment. Some ingredients in these products may make you sensitive to light. If you use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin without removing these products you may cause a severe skin reaction.
DO NOT shine the light from LUSTRE® ClearSkin directly into your eyes or someone's eyes. The effect of looking directly at the blue light has not been tested and the risk is unknown.
To reduce the risk of injury or electrical shock:
To reduce the risk of electric shock the LUSTRE® ClearSkin cannot be used to treat your acne while it is in the battery charging mode and connected to a USB power source.
NEVER use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin where it can fall or be pulled into water.
NEVER use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin or its Power Supply if you think they may have been immersed in water or if you have spilt any liquids on them.
NEVER remove any covers from the LUSTRE® ClearSkin or its Power Supply. Opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltages or other risks. Incorrect reassembly could cause an electric shock when the LUSTRE® ClearSkin is used again.
DO NOT attempt to operate LUSTRE® ClearSkin with any Power Supply other than one approved to deliver 5 Volts at 1amp maximum per port.
DO NOT use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin if the LUSTRE® ClearSkin device or charging cable are damaged in any way.
DO NOT use any other charging cable or computer power supply as this may damage your LUSTRE® ClearSkin device.
DO NOT treat for longer than 20 minutes for each treatment. Using LUSTRE® ClearSkin for longer than the specified treatment time may lead to temporary, mild reddening or darkening of your skin.
DO NOT treat for less than 20 minutes. The treatment may NOT be effective and the number of acne blemishes may not be reduced if the LUSTRE® ClearSkin is used for less than the specified treatment time.
DO NOT treat more often than the specified regimen. Treating more often or longer than the specified regimen may lead to a temporary, mild reddening or darkening of your skin.
DO NOT treat less often than the specified regimen. Treatment may be ineffective and the number of acne blemishes may not be reduced if the LUSTRE® ClearSkin is used less often than the specified regimen.
DO NOT use the LUSTRE® ClearSkin in any way that is not exactly as specified in these instructions for use. Use of the LUSTRE® ClearSkin other than exactly as specified in your "Instructions of Use" booklet has not been tested and the risk is unknown.
CONTACT a healthcare professional as soon as possible if you suspect that you have had any kind of harmful reaction when using the LUSTRE® ClearSkin. If you do not obtain medical advice the reaction may get worse.
Before use; with the device switched off, check the LUSTRE® ClearSkin device and charging cable for signs of physical damage.
Before and after use; wash your face with a suitable cleanser.
AVOID using out of date LUSTRESTRIPS adhesive strips. If you use out of date adhesive strips then the treatment device may NOT adhere to your skin.
AVOID touching the treatment surface of the LUSTRE® ClearSkin device with your fingers or any utensils. Scratches may reduce the light output of the device. The effect of reducing the light output of the LUSTRE® ClearSkin has NOT been tested and the risk is unknown.
DO NOT re-use the LUSTRESTRIPS. The adhesive strips are single-use only. If you re-use the adhesive strips the treatment device may NOT adhere to your skin and bacteria may be transferred between treatments.
AVOID placing the LUSTRE® ClearSkin unit in a dusty or dirty environment or in direct sunlight. Dirt, dust or sunlight may reduce the light output of the device. The effect of reducing the light output of the device has reducing the light output of the device has NOT been tested and the risk is unknown.
When not in use, store the device in its original packaging.
The entire surface of the LUSTRE® ClearSkin controller and the device, including the lens cover may be cleaned by following the cleaning instruction in your Instructions for Use booklet on page 16.
Do not use any other cleaning products other than those stated in the user guide. Use of other cleansing products may damage the controller and device.

We’re so sorry to hear you’d like to make a return! If you’re within 14 days of receiving the product, you can make a return for a full refund. You can reach out to us at customerservice@lustreskin.com with your order number and we’ll provide you with the return address. You will be responsible for the cost and risk of returning the items to us, so we do advise getting postal insurance to cover the value of the package if lost. Please save your proof of shipping and tracking information until your refund has been processed.
We do ask that you please package the parcel securely and make sure to include a note of your name, address, and return number inside the parcel.
